Bio Profile

Dr. Samura Mathew Wilson Kamara is a Sierra Leonean politician, diplomat, and economist. He was the Minister of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation of Sierra Leone from 2007 to 2018. He has also served as the Minister of Finance and Economic Development from 2002 to 2007. He is a former United Nations official and has held several senior positions in the United Nations system, including Resident Coordinator and Resident Representative of the United Nations Development Programme (UNDP) in Sierra Leone, and Director of the United Nations Population Fund (UNFPA) in the Democratic Republic of Congo. He is a member of the ruling All People's Congress (APC) and was the party's presidential candidate in the 2018 Sierra Leonean general election.
