Free and fair elections are the foundation of democracy and essential to the credibility of an incoming government. LAM-TECH Foundation donates a “Sierra Leone OpenElections Platform (SLOEP),” to report on the national elections slated for March 7, 2018. See https://elections.sl.

The platform enables data collection, monitoring and reporting of election results, candidate profiles, election types, boundary delimitations, election calendars, election laws, polling stations, voter registration centers, population and geographic data, in accordance with global principles.

LAM-TECH Foundation’s OpenElections Data Platform is replicable globally and the code behind the platform will be open sourced for anyone to use freely.

Leadership attained via controversial or contested election results leads to citizens’ lack of confidence in a new government, evidence shows. The need for transparency and fair election processes cannot be overemphasized.

LAM-TECH Foundation, a subsidiary of LAM-TECH Consulting, is a Sierra Leonean owned nonprofit organization committed to collaborating with relevant bodies - election management bodies, observers, researchers, journalists, civil society, government ministries, departments, and agencies - to enhance election reporting across developing nations.

To participate in the community of volunteers and supporters to help make this nation-building effort successful, complete this volunteer form online at https://elections.sl/volunteer-application; like us on Facebook via https://fb.me/openelectionssl/; follow us on Twitter @openelectionssl; or email us at info@elections.sl to let us know how you would like to pitch in to help improve democracy in Sierra Leone.

LAM-TECH Foundation is dedicated to helping underserved students, teachers and communities engage and promote ICT in Sierra Leone. It is the charitable arm of LAM-TECH Consulting Enterprise, a company that assists organizations with electoral violence and education reporting systems, websites, web applications, mobile apps, windows based software applications, intranet sites, digital platforms, and social media platforms. Creating innovative digital solutions is part of the company’s forte and they have done that well in the past for large organizations like the International Foundation for Electoral Systems (IFES) and The World Bank.
